About The Position
Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of innovative electrical systems for complex building projects in San Diego, CA. With a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset, you'll play a critical role in transforming concepts into safe, efficient, and sustainable buildings. As a senior member of our engineering team, you will provide technical leadership, guide project teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients, architects, and construction partners. You will help deliver successful solutions for various projects including healthcare facilities, higher education campuses, commercial developments, and mission-critical infrastructure.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as an MEP Engineer in infrastructure and/or building systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Current Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
- Working experience with building and electrical codes.
- Experience managing staff as a direct supervisor.
- Revit experience.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Strong background in sustainable design is highly desirable.
- LEED AP BD+C accreditation.
- WELL certification.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
- Drive project execution from concept through construction administration.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
- Act as the Engineer of Record, leading technical communication with clients.
- Collaborate with owners, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Participate in recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring a strong engineering team.
- Support and refine Glumac’s technical standards, implementing best practices in the local office.
- Support business development efforts through client engagement, proposal development, and industry leadership.
