About The Position

The Simulation and Training Solutions group is looking for a skilled Senior Electrical Engineering professional to join our team in Binghamton, NY! This position involves participating in the development, modification, integration, and testing of aircraft and ground vehicle training simulators for military and commercial use. The work includes both clean-sheet and design reuse. As part of this role, you will be responsible for electrical analysis and characterization, schematic design, power budgets, and part specification and selection. Additionally, you will manage custom cabling and interconnect design, electrical assembly documentation, and prototype integration & testing.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Previous professional experience using AutoCAD Computer aided Design Tool.
  • Previous professional experience using Microsoft Office tool suite.
  • Experienced in Design, Documentation and Integration of electrical items of Moderate to High complexity.

  • Experience with Earned Value Project Management and Cost Account Management activities.
  • Ability to quickly shift focus between high level and low level details.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to hardware engineering requirements capture, analysis, and derivation.
  • Design, Analyze, Integrate and Document hardware systems of moderate to high complexity.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g. Mechanical, software and Systems engineering) to ensure the electrical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach.
  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration and qualification testing of training systems of moderate to high complexity.
  • Estimate, track, own and report status relating to technical performance, cost, schedule and risk performance for assigned scope of work.
  • May Lead cross-functional teams (Mechanical and Electrical) in a Hardware Project Engineer role.
  • Travel as necessary to customer sites, training activities, and trades shows.
