Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. A master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligible for licensure.
  • 10+ years of related experience in either MV or LV system, or both, ideally within rail or transit projects, with demonstrated leadership in project delivery, client engagement, and mentoring.
  • Proven experience with design integration across multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency in power system modelling and analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and mentor cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with protection coordination studies is considered an asset.
  • A master’s degree is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, and arc flash analyses, to assess system performance, efficiency, reliability, and safety. Experience with protection coordination studies is considered an asset.
  • Analyze and interpret study results to support sound engineering decisions and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Contribute to the design and analysis of electrical systems for rail and transit infrastructure, including the preparation of layout drawings, single-line and three-line diagrams, and control, protection, and monitoring schemes.
  • Prepare, review, and verify engineering drawings, technical calculations, specifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Develop or support grounding and bonding designs in accordance with CSA, IEEE, and applicable local safety standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, systems, and others) to integrate electrical requirements into overall project designs.
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Interface with clients, stakeholders, and authorities by providing technical input, progress updates, and support during design and implementation phases.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure deliverables meet internal and external requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules, as required.
