$115,000 - $130,000Onsite

About The Position

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll design, evaluate, and support the power conversion and battery charging systems at the center of our product lines. Charger and rectifier design are the core of our work. A growing slice of it reaches into our integrated systems, where those chargers become complete engineered enclosures. The work spans the full lifecycle, from concept through production release and out into the field, and you would be an authority our own people and our customers rely on.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Substantial electrical engineering experience with real depth in power electronics and power conversion.
  • Experience with UL and/or CSA regulatory compliance programs.
  • Power electronics fundamentals: AC/DC and DC/DC conversion, rectifier topologies, battery charging algorithms, thermal management.
  • Working knowledge of UL, CSA (C22.2, Std. 286), NEC, and IEEE 2405 as they apply to industrial power equipment.
  • A systematic approach to power system faults.
  • Component selection and compatibility judgment across power semiconductors, fusing, protection devices, and passives.
  • Documentation discipline: Clear, precise, production-ready documentation in every phase.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and customers.
  • Comfortable moving between deep design work and urgent field escalations.
  • Ownership mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in technical support or field troubleshooting of power systems.
  • Circuit simulation tools (PLECS, LTspice).
  • MRP/ERP systems (Made2Manage or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, and support power conversion and battery charging systems.
  • Design and refine electrical designs for AC/DC battery chargers, rectifiers, and related power conversion equipment.
  • Lend judgment to integrated systems and battery cabinets, including DC distribution, protection and coordination, and enclosure system behavior.
  • Evaluate power semiconductor and component selection to ensure operation within ratings under worst-case conditions.
  • Contribute to thermal management strategy and derating analysis.
  • Work with firmware and systems engineers to define hardware-software interfaces and product requirements.
  • Support new product development from concept through production release, including design reviews and first-article verification.
  • Act as the technical resource for field support and troubleshooting of chargers, rectifiers, and integrated systems.
  • Diagnose root cause of field issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Guide sales, technical support, quality, and manufacturing on product capabilities and limitations.
  • Conduct on-site visits when necessary to address problems.
  • Produce production-ready schematics, BOMs, ECRs, interface specifications, and revision notes, maintaining clean revision control.
  • Apply UL, CSA, NEC, and IEEE 2405 standards to new designs.
  • Support certification submissions and third-party testing.
  • Track standards changes and assess their impact on product development.
  • Participate in design reviews to help the team weigh trade-offs and risks.
