About The Position

Hatch is seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer - Nuclear to join our team in Bowmanville. This role is part of a proactive talent search for upcoming growth in the nuclear sector, supporting projects for existing plants, small and advanced modular reactor designs, nuclear sustainability for waste processing and volume reduction, long-term storage, and fusion energy development. Requirements

B.Sc./B.Eng. electrical engineering degree from an accredited university
A registered professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible to obtain
Valid Security clearance for Canada, or the ability to obtain
Minimum 10 years' experience in project engineering specific to electrical design
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to function with minimal supervision
Experience with working inside a Nuclear Quality Management System compliant with CSA N286, NQA-1, and / or ISO 19443
Familiar with grading approach for engineering and procurement activities
Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards specifically CSA N series standards, CEC, NEC/NFPA, IEEE, OESC
Experience with construction and commissioning
Experience with ETAP or similar electrical analysis software
Experience working in the Canadian nuclear industry with clients such as Ontario Power Generation, Bruce Power and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories
Experience with Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes within the Canadian nuclear industry including CANDU station configuration management systems and systems such as Online Wiring.
Eligible to work on export-controlled projects subject to 10 CFR 810

Preference for those with DTL or DE qualifications at Canadian nuclear facilities

Responsibilities

Prepare engineering work packages ensuring budgets and schedules are met
Define electrical project requirements as they are related to scope, cost and schedule
Develop and/or review electrical deliverables such as design requirements, single line diagrams, schematics, datasheets, technical specifications, and more
Willingness to mentor junior and intermediate staff
Interface with other engineering disciplines including participation in design reviews
Participate in HAZOP, COMS and other safety related reviews as required
Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates
Actively manage relationships with clients and vendors
