RLF is seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer to work closely with the Discipline Director of Electrical Engineering. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, methods, and best practices. The Senior Electrical Engineer will collaborate with internal teams throughout all design phases and be responsible for producing high-quality documentation with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 years’ experience.
  • Familiarity with NFPA/FBC/UFC/NEC/IEEE codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and electrical system analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership and emotional intelligence skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, client service, and communications skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT certification a plus.
  • Federal project and/or healthcare design experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the kickoff, progress, and deliverables for projects within the Federal market sector.
  • Design and oversee the development of electrical systems for various building types, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure engineering solutions and project objectives align with design goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and other electrical engineering assessments to ensure system reliability.
  • Review and approve electrical system designs, specifications, and construction documents to maintain quality standards.
  • Conduct site visits, field inspections, and system evaluations to validate existing site and building conditions and to monitor project progress and compliance.
  • Identify and address complex design challenges, ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Assist with Quality Control reviews on projects within the Federal market sector.
  • Perform construction administration tasks including but not limited to attending construction progress visits, inspections, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and reviewing product submittals.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance project outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, fostering professional growth within the team.
  • This role may require adjusting work hours or working additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines and business demands.
  • Other duties as assigned.
