About The Position

At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives. As a Senior Electrical Engineer on the Continuous Improvement (CI) team, you will play a critical role in advancing the performance, reliability, and scalability of WHOOP hardware in market. You will own high-impact electrical improvements across production and fielded devices, partnering cross-functionally to solve complex problems and deliver measurable gains in quality, yield, and cost. This is a hands-on, high-agency role ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity and is motivated by making great products even better at scale.

Requirements

  • BS or greater in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience, preferably with a focus on consumer electronics or high-volume hardware products.
  • Substantial electrical engineering fundamentals including circuit design, component fundamentals, power supply design, digital communication protocols, manufacturing processes, and debug of sophisticated systems
  • Experience in schematic capture, layout design and review
  • Experience supporting hardware in mass production, including yield improvement, failure analysis, and design for manufacturing/test.
  • Familiarity with ECAD tools such as Altium and PLM/ECO processes.
  • Hands-on lab experience with standard electrical debug tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, analyzers, etc.)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute electrical continuous improvement initiatives across in-market and production hardware, driving measurable gains in quality, reliability, yield, cost, and supply chain resiliency.
  • Design, implement, and validate schematic, layout, and component-level changes to improve system performance, robustness, and manufacturability.
  • Lead hands-on root cause investigations for field returns, manufacturing failures, and reliability risks, using lab debugging, failure analysis, and data-driven methods to identify and resolve issues.
  • Work closely with Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to identify issues, influence solutions, and ensure seamless integration of design changes.
  • Develop and execute electrical validation and characterization plans to ensure design changes meet performance, reliability, and production requirements.
  • Work directly with contract manufacturers and suppliers to debug issues, support builds, and improve yield and process capability in high-volume production.
  • Execute ECOs end-to-end, including design updates, validation, documentation, and release to production.
  • Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally to support contract manufacturers, partners, and suppliers.
