Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of relevant post-education experience in electrical design for building systems.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, ICC, IECC).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design tasks and coordinate within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with healthcare, commercial, higher education, or science & technology projects.
  • Project management experience on small to mid-size projects.
  • Experience with sustainable design and energy-efficient building systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical assistance and guidance for the design, development, and construction of building electrical systems across commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.
  • Lead or support electrical engineering design for power distribution, lighting, grounding, life safety, and low-voltage systems.
  • Perform and review electrical calculations (load, equipment sizing, voltage drop, grounding, and system analysis).
  • Develop construction documents, specifications, and reports aligned with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, structural, architectural, and external stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and designers; provide QA/QC oversight on project deliverables.
  • Assist with project management responsibilities including scope, schedule, and budget tracking for assigned workstreams.
  • Ensure deliverables meet WSP quality standards and applicable codes, safety, and functionality requirements.
