About The Position

An established engineering environment is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of building systems projects. This position plays a key role in managing electrical design efforts from early site evaluation through final construction support, while also providing mentorship to junior engineering staff. The role supports a mix of commercial, institutional, and government-related projects, including both new construction and renovation work.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in building systems electrical design
  • Strong background in: Lighting and power system design, Fire alarm and low-voltage systems, Medium voltage distribution, Emergency and backup power systems, Grounding and utility coordination
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, AGI32, and SKM

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
  • CDT (Construction Specifications Institute) certification
  • LEED Accredited Professional (USGBC)
  • RCDD certification

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary electrical engineering lead on assigned projects
  • Manage design efforts from initial concept through final delivery
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Perform site evaluations and document existing field conditions
  • Prepare engineering studies, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Design and analyze building electrical systems, including: Lighting and power distribution, Fire alarm systems, Telecommunications and low-voltage infrastructure, Medium voltage distribution and utility coordination, UPS and emergency power systems
  • Develop construction documents and detailed technical specifications
  • Respond to RFIs during bidding and construction
  • Review contractor submittals for compliance with design intent
  • Participate in field observations and final inspections
  • Support project closeout, including as-built documentation
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure alignment with expectations
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of design deliverables
  • Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and best practices
