This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in the office and two days remote. The role involves working within a project team of engineers and designers on the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems. You will tackle challenging assignments, including investigating and troubleshooting electrical engineering issues, and designing new electrical systems. A key part of the role is assisting the electrical engineering lead or project manager to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.

Requirements

  • A BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
  • 5 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design, or modifications or replacements of existing systems; experience should include the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications.
  • Experience is required with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), equipment selection, and analytical calculations.
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective working in teams and individual work.
  • Detail oriented approach to work.

  • Construction and start-up experience a plus
  • Minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that enables effective oversight of automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems.
  • Investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues or design new electrical engineering systems.
  • Assist the electrical engineering lead or project manager in efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
  • Prepare and review detailed calculations, including three phase AC and DC power studies, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting and protective relay settings.
  • Prepare engineering documentation for design input for drawing production.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats.
  • Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation.
  • Lead others in taking engineering problems from issue to solution by setting expectations for using data and modern tools such as automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs.
  • Direct automation and process-improvement work, for example, how teams automate calculations, summarize technical documents, or generate design documentation and guiding when and how AI or agentic AI tools are used while ensuring results are checked.
