About The Position

Our client is looking for an Senior Electrical Designer. If you're interested please share your update resume along with your yearly expected salary. This position requires access to federal facilities and due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. A pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use, must be completed. The role involves collaborating effectively with other disciplines, managing competing deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks. The designer will be responsible for resolving design issues both independently and in collaboration with engineering disciplines, construction teams, and clients.

Requirements

  • Only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration.
  • Ability to obtain an Active Secret clearance in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Knowledge and application of NEC code and NEMA/ANSI/IEEE standards.
  • Experience with an electronic Cable Management System (e.g., SETROUTE), including the ability to input data and perform database corrections.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other disciplines and manage competing deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
  • Relevant experience in preparing electrical system and equipment drawings for nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building electrical systems.
  • Proficient with a 3D CAD tool for electrical design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in engineering and office automation tools.
  • Broad knowledge of electrical engineering design principles, electrical systems, schematics, and layouts.
  • Familiarity with Bechtel corporate guides and standards, as well as thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables such as drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to resolve design issues both independently and in collaboration with engineering disciplines, construction teams, and clients.
  • Experience modeling piping, HVAC, and mechanical equipment in a SmartPlant 3D environment.
  • Previous project experience with DoD, DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or NASA.
  • Experience working with procedures that meet quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
  • Associate degree or certification and 6 or more years of experience.
