About The Position

This role at Clorox, reporting to the Senior Manager, OT&EIC Engineering, is responsible for leading mid-to-large scale automation projects. These projects aim to drive cost savings, innovation, and operational efficiency. The Senior Electrical and Controls Engineer will manage projects end-to-end, covering scope definition, design, procurement, vendor management, start-up, and validation. The position requires strong technical expertise in Rockwell systems, industrial power, and SCADA/MES technologies. The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with plant, vendor, and corporate teams, applying deep controls expertise to deliver complex systems that meet business objectives, while also mentoring peers and promoting standard practices within the organization. Requirements

  • Engineering Degree (BSEE or similar)
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing
  • Strong technical skills related to electrical/instrumentation and controls, industrial power distribution, and Rockwell control systems and devices (must-have)
  • Working knowledge of ISA‑S88, PackML standards
  • Design Capability in Multiple Disciplines
  • Demonstrated Ability to Lead Cross Functional Teams
  • Working knowledge of NEC, ANSI, IEC, NEMA, and NFPA standards
  • Working knowledge of OT networks including industrial Ethernet, VLANs, switches, firewalls, and secure segmentation of control systems
  • Working knowledge of data collection systems (SCADA, MES, Historian, SQL)
  • Ability to develop, read and interpret P&IDs and electrical drawings
  • Experience managing outside engineering firms, equipment vendors, and construction contractors to support project execution
  • Experience managing spending to approved capital and expense budgets based on project estimates
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with senior management

Responsibilities

  • Leads electrical engineering efforts through all phases of capital projects – conceptual, feasibility, scope definition, cost estimates, functional requirements, system design, scheduling, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, startup, and validation.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in developing and managing estimates, financial analysis, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Includes the use of Clorox Early Management principles and activities to deliver customer expectations with vertical and sustainable project execution.
  • Support system start-up and operational checkout on systems including configuration, wiring, calibration, and power testing.
  • Provide hardware and software application support assistance to engineers and operations.
  • Provides significant contributions and technical leadership for major technology efforts in the organization, either as an individual or team member.
  • Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, system drawings, P&IDs, schematics and blue prints to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/control systems.
  • Interpret industry, regulatory, and company specifications and standards and apply to projects.
  • Implement capital building & equipment installations and to improve manufacturing competitive performance.
  • Works in a participative team-based environment, using manufacturing best practice processes and principles, plans and leads the design and implementation of medium to large sized projects, programs, and manufacturing improvement projects that include the integration of outside technical resources.
  • Development of manufacturing equipment, processes, and procedures essential to line extensions, product improvements, and new product development.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and finances to meet predetermined Clorox business objectives.
  • Provide technical analysis, project cost and schedule estimation, engineering effort forecasting, design recommendations, preparation of design and equipment specifications, design, review of design documents, development of construction sub-contract documents, and lead construction, commissioning, and start-up activities at plant facilities.
  • Deliver project safety performance objectives.
