Requirements

  • Provides oversight and strategic support to hospital and medical network service lines, creating and sustaining effective demand, prioritization, and resource management.
  • Provides leadership, mentorship, and direction for day-to-day IT operations and administrative activities across service lines, including the authority to make independent decisions regarding IT prioritization and management.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in applications/systems, and ensures cross-functional integration of projects and assignments.
  • Leads the long-term strategic planning, design, development, and implementation of service line technology objectives.
  • Assesses, documents, and budgets potential projects; performs project resource planning; conducts continuous monitoring and reports on portfolio health and participates in the department’s change management process and staff training.
  • Responsible for all aspects of a service line’s technology portfolio including conceptualization, scoping, prioritization, and activation of projects within the relevant service line.
  • Coordinates with Enterprise PMO on management of large, strategic initiatives.
  • Conducts ongoing portfolio review meetings with executives to establish a prioritized portfolio.
  • Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to manage the processes of reviewing new requests, assessing project priority, including awareness of cross-portfolio dependencies and impacts, and making go / no-go recommendations to Executive Leadership.
  • Leads consensus-building activities with end users, operational leaders, physicians, and designated staff to implement solutions and/or resolve issues that may involve multiple applications and/or technical teams.
  • Manages and uses the life cycle of a wide range of cross-departmental initiatives, investments, programs, projects, and outcomes to optimally achieve enterprise goals and objectives.
  • In conjunction with the PMO, identifies and leads cross-functional teams in the administration, maintenance, or expansion of application or infrastructure work.
  • Provides oversight to program and project managers within the portfolio and quality assurance ensuring that initiatives are being well managed and adhering to appropriate standards and good practice.
  • Develops an overall understanding of each initiative in the portfolio to understand the potential customer impact and service requirements generated by each initiative in the portfolio.
  • Provides highest-level expertise in the development of portfolio and resource management standards that are scalable including planning, resource management, integration, and touchpoints with other service lines, projects, or cross-functional work.
  • Supports the financial approval process and budget management process.
  • Manages special projects (up to 10%): translating customer needs, meeting results, status reporting, and managing customer relationships and expectations.
