About The Position

The Editorial Services (ES) team reviews copy that can pass the rigorous scrutiny of our client’s medical-legal-regulatory (MLR) committees. ES works with our Scientific Services team to ensure that medical information is correctly conveyed within the creative execution. The Senior Editor is a seasoned editorial professional responsible for advanced proofreading and copyediting, particularly on complex projects. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and clarity of materials. The Senior Editor also provides guidance to junior team members, fostering skill development and supporting efficient workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or associated field
  • 4+ years proofreading experience in an agency environment
  • Experience with pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
  • Meticulous attention to detail, familiarity with medical terminology a must
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and perform with professionalism and excellence under pressure
  • Team player able to work independently and collaboratively with content development team and other departments
  • Advanced computer literacy necessary, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications such as PowerPoint and Word, Google Suite such as Slides, Docs, and Adobe Acrobat

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough proofreading and copyediting on complex projects, ensuring consistency with client specifications and/or AMA style
  • Cross-check all table, figure, and citations against client tables, figures, and other relevant back-up
  • Primarily using Adobe Workfront, carry edits and changes across versions and rounds of review, flagging inconsistencies and any errors throughout the process
  • Manage timelines and quality control for assigned tasks, communicating effectively with other teams (including Creative Services and project managers) and external stakeholders
  • Provide feedback and mentorship to junior editorial team members or external resources, supporting their development in editorial best practices
  • Assist with process improvement by sharing insights and suggesting adjustments to enhance proofreading accuracy and efficiency
  • Excel in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and is able to manage requirements of multiple accounts without sacrificing accuracy
  • Support the Editorial Services Manager in training and tool adoption across the team
  • Develop effective, collaborative working relationships with fellow employees and freelancers
  • Complete timesheets accurately and on time
  • Perform other related duties as required
