Senior Editor, Wall Street - CNBC
About The Position
CNBC is seeking a Wall Street Editor to build and lead its expanded coverage of deals, banks, brokers, and asset managers. The role involves elevating CNBC's coverage of mergers and acquisitions, highlighting the people behind the deals, and providing deep insights into financial institutions. The editor will collaborate with on-air journalists, guide reporters, navigate sourcing for exclusive stories, and set strategic reporting priorities across finance. The coverage will be tailored for both television viewers and digital subscribers, requiring seamless integration of these platforms. A key part of the role will be launching and growing a major initiative linked to David Faber, leveraging his expertise in finance and dealmaking.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience editing and managing for a major business publication
- 3+ years building and managing reporting teams that deliver significant scoops
- Ability to edit complicated stories for a broad audience
- Strong understanding of finance and deals and ability to prioritize coverage
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

- Experience appearing on television in a variety of formats

Responsibilities
- Expand and manage CNBC’s Wall Street coverage including deals, finance and banking
- Hire reporters and work with existing staff to deliver major scoops
- Launch initiative on deals, dealmakers and deal analysis
- Develop strategies to engage readers and broaden CNBC’s digital and television audience
- Generate strong analytical stories about key financial events
- Coordinate between CNBC’s television and digital offerings, leveraging the capabilities of each to dominate coverage of deals and finance.
