CNN Weather is seeking an experienced, digital-first editor to lead and shape our features coverage, where science meets awe and explanation meets lived experience. This senior editor will be responsible for guiding our feature content across the natural world, space, Earth science, climate and travel. They will shape explanatory and experience-driven stories that connect audiences to the forces shaping the planet. The successful candidate thrives in building beautiful, durable journalism that creates curiosity and habit. The ideal candidate has strong editorial judgment and editing skills, a deep appreciation for natural-world storytelling and a sharp instinct for framing complex topics in ways that are accessible, visually dynamic and emotionally resonant. They understand how to make science feel human and relevant. This person is a collaborative leader who can bring together meteorologists, reporters, visual journalists, illustrators, video producers and designers to create distinctive visually led features. They will also work across the newsroom to take advantage of the expertise and experiences of CNN reporters and service journalists alike. They will ensure that our coverage reflects the full scope of our mission — pairing urgency with wonder, context with beauty, and expertise with delight. Finally, this person must embody the CNN Weather & Climate team’s ethos — we are looking for a self-motivated, team-oriented collaborator who takes pride in their craft, values diverse perspectives and elevates colleagues.
