Senior Edge Linux Engineer

Nordic Investin Group•Stockholm, ME

About The Position

Nordic Investin is recruiting a Senior Edge Linux Engineer on behalf of one of our partner companies. You want architecture, delivery and production behaviour to agree, and you turn difficult constraints into systems that teams can operate and improve. The partner is strengthening its capability in secure Linux platforms for remotely managed edge devices. You will take responsibility for work that connects Yocto, Linux kernel and secure boot, while ensuring that OTA updates and containers receive appropriate discipline. The objective is progress that colleagues can use and leaders can evaluate. The environment suits someone who tests assumptions early, documents trade-offs and treats operability as part of the design. You will work in short delivery cycles with direct access to product, domain and operational colleagues. The partner expects engineers to review designs, test assumptions early and follow important changes into production. Decisions should be recorded clearly enough that another engineer can understand the tradeoff months later. This role calls for independent judgement and the ability to raise the quality around you. You will be expected to recognise when a decision needs wider expertise, make trade-offs visible and move work forward without creating unnecessary process.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience delivering secure Linux platforms for remotely managed edge devices in a demanding environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Yocto and Linux kernel.
  • Practical experience applying secure boot and OTA updates.
  • Ability to assess risk, priorities and trade-offs involving containers.
  • Evidence of clear stakeholder communication and dependable end-to-end ownership.
  • Professional English and the judgement to work with sensitive or business-critical information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience from industrial IoT, telecom or energy infrastructure.
  • Exposure to device telemetry in a cross-functional environment.
  • Swedish language skills or experience working across Nordic organisations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the practical direction for secure Linux platforms for remotely managed edge devices.
  • Translate goals and constraints into a clear approach for Yocto and Linux kernel.
  • Establish useful standards, routines or artefacts around secure boot.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and dependencies affecting OTA updates.
  • Use evidence and measurable outcomes to improve containers.
  • Strengthen knowledge sharing, decision quality and sustainable ownership across the team.
