Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent required.
  • A member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiovascular Technology (CSCT) and/or the Ontario Society of Cardiovascular Technology (OSCT) required.
  • Advanced experience in performing ECGs, Holter Monitors and Stress Testing procedures required.
  • Experience with Nuclear Cardiology required.
  • Current BLSC certification required.
  • Recent hospital experience required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of continuing education.
  • Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required.
  • Subject to any accommodation required by applicable human rights legislation, Cambridge Memorial Hospital requires that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.
  • The successful external applicant is required to provide the applicable criminal record check, as requested by Human Resources, in accordance with federal and provincial legislation. Valid criminal record checks are in original format and dated with two months from date of conditional offer from CMH.

Responsibilities

  • Efficient flow of the Cardiorespiratory area which includes reviewing and updating patient scheduling processes, ensuring efficient workflow and development and updating of area specific policies and forms.
  • Ensuring changes to processes and/or methods are communicated to staff.
  • Staff training and oversight and participation in recruitment activities.
  • Assisting in evaluating staff competency.
  • Provision of strong technical support, consultation and interpretation in all aspects of Cardiac Testing.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, arranging equipment service, preventative maintenance and maintenance of associated records.
  • Interacting with Technicians, Clerical Staff, managers, nurses and physicians.
  • Maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
  • Liasing with the Organizational Scheduling Office (OSO) for staff schedule builds and updates.
  • Other duties as required.
