About The Position

Capable of performing design work as assigned and mentored by a Drafting Manager. Designers are required to have a working knowledge of the components they are designing and are capable of generating detailed drawings within their assigned disciplines. Designers will also delegate work to drafters on assigned projects. This job involves performing design duties utilizing company standards and engineering practices, Computer Aided 3D Modeling on assigned projects utilizing AutoCAD, and generating different types of "scaled" and "non-scaled" drawings. The role also includes printing, plotting & filing of drawings, occasional travel out of town for short periods of time to gather field data, and completing high-paced assignments through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and executions of assigned work. Effective communication with a wide diversity of personnel with varying technical backgrounds including engineers, designers, vendors, and management is essential. The individual will take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of their work and bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), Vocational/Technical “Drafting and Design” 2 year Associates Degree or equal: Required
• 10+ years related experience
• Operational knowledge of AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D Modeling software.
• Minimum 1 year experience utilizing Aeries CARS Cable and Raceway Systems database.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel & Microsoft Office Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment.
