About The Position

AMETEK Programmable Power in San Diego, CA is seeking a Senior DSP/Firmware Engineer to conceptualize, design, and develop firmware for DSP-based digital control systems used in programmable AC & DC power products. This role involves implementing digital control algorithms, performing design analysis (e.g., gain/phase plots) and documenting results. The engineer will also create and execute test plans to validate performance and develop bootloaders for DSPs and microcontrollers. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for seamless integration with hardware and system-level design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 8 years of experience developing power control for power supply applications, including DC-DC converters, PFC systems, and grid-tied inverters.
• Experience with power electronics converter topologies, including AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC systems.
• Proficiency in Embedded C and Assembly language programming for real-time embedded systems.
• Experience with control peripherals, including ADCs and PWMs, DACs.
• 6 years of experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, and CAN.
