About The Position

This position involves operating various types of heavy trucks for the regular pickup and disposal of refuse and recycling materials around campus. The role includes taking refuse to the landfill, adhering to safety rules, maintaining records, and performing operator maintenance on vehicles. General maintenance duties and servicing of dispensers may also be required during slower periods.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Have or acquire a Class A Commercial Driver's License within the first 30 days of employment.
Eligibility to drive TTU vehicles.
Valid U.S. driver license.
Two years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

Operate various types of heavy trucks.
Perform regularly scheduled pickup and disposal of refuse around campus.
Perform additional pickups as required.
Take refuse to landfill as required.
Adhere to all operating/safety rules of disposal trucks.
Perform regular pickup and disposal of recycling materials around campus.
Maintain proper records.
Perform required operator maintenance, checking fluid levels, tires, lights, mirrors and related equipment for safe operation of refuse vehicles.
Maintain vehicle, tools, equipment and materials in an orderly and safe condition.
Operate vehicles including pickups, trucks and vans.
Secure vehicle, equipment and areas of operation.
Perform general maintenance duties during slow times including painting dumpsters.
Service/repair dispensers around campus as required.
