Senior Drilling Engineer
About The Position
EOG Resources is seeking a Senior Drilling Engineer to join their team. This role involves vertical and horizontal well planning and design, writing Authority for Expenditure (AFE) documents, analyzing drilling performance and costs, evaluating vendor performance, and investigating/applying new technologies to improve drilling efficiency. The engineer will collaborate with various departments including G&G, Reservoir, Completion, Land, Construction, and Regulatory. Responsibilities include providing detailed performance and cost analysis to management and offering daily engineering supervisory support for drilling operations and well site supervisors. The position requires strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills, with the ability to organize and supervise field personnel effectively. Expertise in a wide range of drilling applications and the ability to make sound, quick decisions are essential. Strong computer skills are also required.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering (preference for Petroleum Engineering)
- Minimum of 3 years of drilling engineering experience
- Significant experience in the drilling design and execution of technical horizontal well bores
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills
- Ability to work with field personnel and division staff
- Strong ability to organize and supervise field personnel
- Expertise in a wide range of drilling applications
- Ability to make sound decisions quickly on a regular basis
- Strong computer skills
