About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Drafter to join our team. The role involves preparing detailed shop drawings for millwork fabrication using AutoCAD or similar CAD software. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure accuracy. This position also requires visiting construction jobsites to verify measurements, performing material takeoffs, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. Maintaining accurate records is also a key part of this role.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the millwork industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software, with minimum 1-3 years of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong spatial visualization skills and ability to work in both 2D and 3D.
• Proficiency in Excel, PDF manipulation, and other relevant software.
• Valid Texas Driver License.

Nice To Haves

• Candidates with 1-3 years of AutoCAD experience and/or 1-3 years of experience as a millwork drafter will be considered.
• A certificate in drafting will be required for entry-level positions.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD or similar CAD software to prepare detailed shop drawings for millwork fabrication.
• Read and interpret architectural and shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings.
• Visit construction jobsites to verify measurements and dimensions as necessary.
• Perform material takeoffs and prepare cut lists.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all drawings and related materials.
