About The Position

As a Senior District Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budget preparation, and internal control policies. You will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our organization. You will develop procedures, and train team members as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance leadership, preferably in [industry].
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
  • Experience in process improvement and financial system implementations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Management of district accounting team.
  • Procedure development/revision and training of team.
  • Responsible for oversight of team responsibilities, business partner relationships, and site level accounting oversight.
  • Complete all necessary journal entries to finalize month-end in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile balance sheets before month-end closing.
  • Review financial statements with management prior to closing to ensure all accruals have been properly captured.
  • Distribute preliminary financials to management for review.
  • Upon month-end completion, provide management with a narrative explaining variances from forecasts and budgets.
  • Maintain clear communication with relevant staff regarding general ledger (GL) coding.
  • Ensure month-end cutoff dates are clearly communicated.
  • Record accruals accurately to capture expenses incurred in the closing month.
  • Run necessary reports to confirm payments are processed and investigate any outstanding accruals.
  • Ensure timely completion of billing and verify that all work orders are entered into the system before invoicing.
  • Regularly review aging reports to monitor collections of outstanding balances, collaborating with the collections team to ensure timely payments.
