This position offers the opportunity to work in a project team environment and lead other engineers and designers using knowledge of engineering and design practices. Responsibilities include preparing/reviewing construction sketches and details for overhead and underground network services (4 kV through 34 kV), structural analyses, short circuit and voltage drop calculations, bill of material cost estimates, and traffic control plans/permit drawings. The role involves working on project teams for the design of new upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities, participating in Process Hazard Analysis and Design Reviews, and working directly with client representatives. The engineer will analyze, design, or review priority feeds, support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components, plan system modifications, and design/oversee complex tasks. Developing work packages and providing construction support are also key aspects. Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification is expected. Career development is supported through peer-learning via S&L’s systems of process and associated “Communities of Practice.” This role offers a hybrid work arrangement (three days in office, two days remote) and a generous relocation package depending on location.
