About The Position

This is an ON-CALL (part-time with variable hours) and remote role supporting a national team of training and technical assistance providers dedicated to the field of affordable housing. The role involves working with diverse stakeholders including cities, counties, states, and nonprofit entities receiving technical assistance through HUD and other industry partners, with a focus on disaster recovery programs. The position requires developing and delivering training sessions, conference presentations, workshops, and webinars, focusing on best practices and innovative strategies in disaster recovery. Contributions will also be made to the design of tools, drafting of reports, and development of policy guidance. This is a home-based position with up to 25% travel required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Planning, Urban Affairs, Public Policy, Government or a related discipline or minimum 10 years of professional experience in similar field.
• Minimum of 15 years knowledge in HUD Office of Community Development Programs including the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program.
• Minimum 5 years demonstrated success developing and delivering trainings, workshops and webinars; facilitation, and public speaking to a variety of audiences.
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).

• Experience and expertise in other federal mainstream housing and services programs.
• Broad knowledge in cross-cutting Federal requirements (e.g., Labor, Fair Housing, Relocation, etc.) a plus.
• A commitment to disaster recovery and serving all of those who are underserved.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions.
• Ability to multi-task with various projects and responsibilities.
