As a Senior Director (SD) USMA Strategy – ISL/LEN, at Gilead you will serve an important leadership role in the USMA team, reporting to the Executive Director. We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Affairs Senior Director with a strong background in HIV therapies. This individual will play a critical and lead role representing the USMA HIV strategy team on the cross-functional commercialization team, supporting launch ISL/LEN as a potentially new treatment option, and guiding potential launches of future pipeline products in HIV.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD, or other advanced health care degree with 8+ years of relevant industry/clinical experience in HIV is required
  • At least 5 years of Pharma industry experience, with leadership roles preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, visual communication, and interpersonal skills are required, with experience in vendor contracting and preparing budgets, misc.
  • Must be fully cognizant and adhere to regulatory and legal (Business Conduct) requirements for US Medical Affairs activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the provision of, medical information, slide development, medical writing, and project and conference management required
  • Excel spreadsheets, and delivering PowerPoint presentations
  • Proven strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to utilize moderately complex scientific resources across a variety of different settings
  • Prior experience working with commercial/marketing teams

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a scientific expert and medical affairs leader to foster alignment and collaboration between US Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, and US/Global Commercial teams, with a focus on ISL/LEN commercialization efforts.
  • Serve as the medical and scientific expert for the ISL/LEN portfolio, supporting the commercial strategy and marketing teams specifically for these products.
  • Provide strategic medical input into brand planning, lifecycle management, and commercialization initiatives for ISL/LEN therapies.
  • Represent Medical Affairs in commercialization team meetings, ensuring alignment of medical and commercial strategies for ISL/LEN products.
  • Communicate medical initiatives, strategies, data timelines, and publication plans related to ISL/LEN to commercial stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, Clinical, Public/Government Affairs, and other partner functions to lead or support cross-functional projects for ISL/LEN commercialization.
  • Provide medical support for US commercial activities including but not limited to Scientific advisory boards (planning, content review, and presentation).
  • Promotional Review Committee (PRC) concept discussions and material reviews.
  • Ensure medical narrative alignment and scientific accuracy in commercial materials and campaigns
  • Review and contribute to commercial training materials for sales and clinical liaison teams.
  • Present at commercial training sessions, including midyear and national meetings.
  • Support the development and delivery of training workshops and strategic/tactical planning sessions.
  • Support the US Strategy Lead in portfolio management and launch planning activities.
  • Align medical initiatives and POA tactical planning with the local strategic cross-functional plan.
