About The Position

The Senior Director, Technology Operations is responsible for leading large-scale, cross-functional programs that drive business value and operational excellence. This role requires expertise in program estimation, risk management, stakeholder engagement, business operations, financial management, and technology landscape awareness. The Senior Director, Technology Operations will influence strategic decision-making, ensure optimal resource allocation, and foster a culture of integrity, respect, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in program management, preferably in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Strong knowledge of program estimation, risk management, business operations, and financial management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex business issues, develop business cases, and influence strategic decisions.
  • Familiarity with technology trends, business simulations, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity, diversity, and continuous learning.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business,information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 7 years’ experience inproject management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • Option 2: 9 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • 4 years’ supervisory experience.

  • Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 6 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead program estimation, risk assessment, and mitigation across multiple projects, ensuring optimal resource allocation and budget distribution.
  • Identify potential risks and design multiple response plans using scenario planning.
  • Define and track program success measures and milestones.
  • Build consensus among stakeholders through effective communication, data-driven insights, and relationship-building.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing timely feedback and influencing product/technology decisions.
  • Design and implement business operations processes, assess organizational KPIs, and develop business cases.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of business fundamentals, finance, and interrelationships across business units.
  • Define program implementation strategies, goals, stage gates, and critical delivery paths for large-scale programs.
  • Prepare benefits realization plans and monitor program performance using internal and external reporting tools.
  • Manage program budgets, oversee delivery schedules, and project ROI for future programs.
  • Stay current with technology trends, participate in domain strategy development, and model industry best practices.
  • Analyze business objectives and customer needs to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Attract, develop, and retain a highly skilled workforce through mentorship, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, ethics, and compliance, supporting Walmart’s values and open-door policy.
  • Build strong internal and external partnerships to maximize business goals and community impact.
