About The Position

The Senior Director, Technical Program Management, leads the strategic planning and execution of complex, enterprise-wide technical programs. This role drives alignment across stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration of business and technology solutions while optimizing resources and mitigating risks. The position requires expertise in system design, program development, and cross-functional leadership to deliver high-impact outcomes. The incumbent fosters innovation, mentors teams, and champions best practices to enhance operational efficiency and program success. This leadership role is critical in advancing Walmart’s product and technology initiatives and achieving organizational objectives through effective program governance and communication. The Customer Data & Identity (CDI) team is a strategic platform organization dedicated to enabling Walmart to securely unify, govern, and activate customer data and identity across the enterprise. This team drives trusted, personalized, and intelligent customer experiences at scale by leveraging advanced program management, technical design, and stakeholder engagement. Members collaborate across functions to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance customer outcomes across the enterprise. The team fosters a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and leadership to deliver impactful programs aligned with business goals and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in program and project management, including development and implementation of complex, large-scale strategic programs.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple teams and executive levels.
  • Strong technical expertise in system design, architecture, cloud infrastructure, and software lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in risk management, resource optimization, and financial oversight within program lifecycles.
  • Excellent communication skills to present data-driven insights and unify teams around shared goals.
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 8 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
  • OR 10 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Project Management.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 6 years’ experience in product design.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and commitment to creating accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
