About The Position

The DePuy Synthes Global Tax Group is recruiting a Senior Tax Counsel to lead the Tax Counsel group. The position is based in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and reports to the Global Head of Tax. The role is part of the Tax team’s leadership group and includes oversight of one paralegal. Johnson & Johnson plans to separate its Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone company operating as DePuy Synthes. The separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, consultation processes, regulatory approvals, and other customary conditions. DePuy Synthes is a global Orthopaedics company with solutions in joint reconstruction, trauma, spine, sports medicine, and related surgical technologies. As it separates from Johnson & Johnson, the organization is establishing its own corporate identity, voice, culture, and reputation while continuing to serve patients, customers, and healthcare systems worldwide. The Senior Tax Counsel sets strategy and provides oversight for global cross-border and domestic transactions and tax planning. The role leads deal modeling guidance, transaction structuring and execution, legal entity rationalization and restructuring, acquisition integration, and technical tax training. It also advises management on worldwide employee compensation and benefit plans, supports repatriation planning and supply-chain planning, and provides technical advice on external efforts to influence U.S. international tax policy. The position represents DePuy Synthes in industry groups and participates in global enterprise tax leadership, succession-planning, and calibration activities.
