About The Position

We are recruiting for the best talent for the Senior Director, Strategic Planning, Partnerships & Transformations role located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The Senior Director, Strategic Planning, Partnerships & Transformations is responsible for: Shaping, evolving and driving Global Services’ vision and strategy through our strategic planning process. Leading key business transformations including GS A&D initiatives Partnering with leaders to identify, expand, scale, and report GS services, capabilities, and opportunities that create significant value for the sectors, functions and regions Researching and educating the organization on emerging trends, services and capabilities through internal and external partnerships, benchmarking exercises, industry groups and other sources. This leader should have a strong understanding of Global Services’ capabilities and services, be current on emerging business trends (e.g., technology, process, resource) and understand core JNJ business processes (e.g., Commercial, Finance, HR, Procurement, Supply Chain, R&D). It is important that this leader understands sector, function and regional nuances so that they can effectively collaborate with leaders to identify and assess new opportunities that will deliver measurable, enterprise-wide impact. This leader should be a visible representative in the external landscape, leveraging top-tier consulting, academic, and industry relationships to benchmark and elevate JNJ’s competitiveness. Reporting to the Global Services VP of Strategy and Transformations, this leader will drive key outcomes and results through their ability to collaborate and influence leaders across the enterprise and over various levels (e.g., EC leaders to function managers). This leader will lead a focused team of 3 to 5 members. They will partner across Global Services and JNJ sectors and functions via our boundaryless talent model to create a high performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Working experience in one or more of the following functions is a significant plus in this role: Finance, HR, Procurement, JJT, Commercial, Supply Chain, R&D is required.
  • 15 years relevant experience.
  • Communication and presentation skills for executive leadership discussions
  • This role requires 10 years of people management experience due to the level of the employees being supervised.
  • Experience in organizational design, building new capabilities, and leading through transformational change.
  • Strong financial acumen, including program budget management and value realization.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with senior leadership and influence at all levels.
  • Experience in Finance, Procurement, HR, Commercial, IT, or Supply Chain.
  • Experience with A&D leadership and managing complex portfolios of projects.
  • This role requires occasional travel to GS and business partner locations.
  • Less than 10% travel.

  • Global Mindset & Industry Experience - Experience operating in diverse, international environments and within MedTech, Pharmaceuticals, or Life Sciences sectors; global perspective and adaptability are essential.
  • Continuous Improvement & Technology Integration - Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, with firsthand experience integrating technology and automation into business services.

Responsibilities

  • GS Strategy – Command the development and delivery of GS’s global strategy for the GSLT, driving alignment and engagement at the highest levels (EC/EC-1), and ensuring GS’s agenda is both visionary and actionable (e.g., Strategic Planning).
  • GS Value Partnerships – Identify, explore, assess, and operationalize new capabilities and services that amplify GS’s strengths, directly fueling incremental value and competitive advantage for JNJ sectors, functions, and regions tracking opportunities through our four phases of Explore, Assess, Implement and Value Tracking.
  • GS Transformation Program Leadership – Lead from the front on enterprise initiatives, orchestrating complex, high-stakes programs that redefine GS’s operating model and deliver sustainable transformation.
  • GS A&D Orchestration – Govern the end-to-end execution of A&D activities, owning the A&D playbook and chairing the GS A&D council to ensure flawless integration and value realization.
  • External Engagement – Actively cultivate and leverage relationships with leading consulting firms, universities, and industry groups to inject cutting-edge insights and innovation into GS’s DNA.
  • Benchmarking – Set the standard for excellence by leading rigorous benchmarking efforts, ensuring GS’s services are best-in-class and continuously improving.
  • Shape and drive GS strategic frameworks in lockstep with J&J’s enterprise ambitions.
  • Lead advanced global business services market and trend analyses to inform bold, data-driven decisions.
  • Mobilize and inspire cross-functional teams to seize new opportunities and deliver robust business cases.
  • Develop and institutionalize best-in-class playbooks, methodologies, and training for A&D and Value Creation Partnerships.
  • Champion a relentless culture of innovation and continuous improvement across all GS functions.
