About The Position

The Senior Director, Resiliency Center Business Development will support USP’s efforts to advance the resilience of the global pharmaceutical supply of quality medicines, working closely with the Chief Resiliency Officer (CRO) and the Resiliency Business Unit Team (RBUT), comprised of a cross functional group representing supply chain solution owners across USP, including Healthcare Quality and Safety (HQS), the Medicine Supply Map (MSM), Pharmaceutical Product Quality Testing (PPQT) and other cross functional members responsible for resiliency related communications, events, and advocacy. This role will work across RBUT programs to develop and execute a business development strategy to maximize the visibility and uptake of USP resiliency programs with United States Government customers. Requirements

  • MBA or related degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience or B.A. /B.S. with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive network of contacts in the government contracting sphere, especially at agencies with potential interest in pharmaceutical supply and quality such as HHS (including ASPR, ARPA-H) and DoW.
  • Demonstrated experience with government business development and contracting with proven growth for organizations/companies.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Resiliency Center government engagement plan.
  • Coordinate across USP to transition opportunities through the business development funnel.
  • Leverage and coordinate an external network of consultants and firms to support meeting RC business development objectives.
  • Develop and implement a tactical cross selling plan. working with RBUT program owners, to maximize stakeholder engagement opportunities not only within the USG but also for other frequently engaged key stakeholder groups such as health systems.
  • Track business development outcomes: develop and implement a mechanism for tracking and reporting lead generation and cross-selling outcomes to inform an ongoing business case for the Resiliency Center.
  • Serve as a regular member on the Resiliency Center Business Unit Team (“RBUT”): comprised of resiliency solution owners and cross-functional resiliency center resources, including in government advocacy, and external engagement.
  • Surface opportunities for new solution offerings based on a deep understanding of USP core capabilities and USG priorities and needs.
  • Provide input and targeted support for stakeholder engagement events and plans: Working with the Stakeholder Engagement lead, ensure stakeholder engagement plans reflect USG priorities and interests as appropriate and act as an effective platform to amplify USP asset visibility and uptake.
  • Provide input on thought leadership programming: As RBUT team member, advise on proposed thought leadership plans to ensure they reflect and amplify business priorities and will resonate with key customers/ potential customers.
