About The Position

The Senior Director, Procurement and Contracts Administration is responsible for leading procurement operations, contract administration, and vendor relationship management programs. This role requires a strong understanding of competitive bidding processes, contract management practices, and regulatory compliance. The position involves building collaborative relationships with a diverse campus community and senior leadership, and requires proficiency with financial and enterprise systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, contract administration, or supplier management, preferably within higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience leading procurement operations, contract administration, and vendor relationship management programs.
  • Experience with negotiation and management of construction contracts and construction related equipment and supplies.
  • Proven success in negotiating complex contractual agreements and developing strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Experience developing and implementing procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Strong knowledge of competitive bidding processes, contract management practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and effectively partner with a diverse campus community and senior leadership.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with financial and enterprise systems, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional procurement certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within a reasonable period of employment.
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Banner or a comparable ERP system preferred.
  • Experience with electronic contract management platforms preferred.
  • Experience with eProcurement and automated purchasing systems preferred.
