Senior Director, Platform Products

Suki•Redwood City, CA
•$300,000 - $350,000•Remote

About The Position

Suki is creating a new category in health technology: the AI-powered digital assistant for healthcare. Our mission is simple but profound—give time back to clinicians so they can focus on what matters most: caring for patients. Today, doctors spend hours navigating complex electronic health record (EHR) systems—modern versions of paper charts that are often unintuitive, fragmented, and time-consuming. Suki changes that. Clinicians using Suki already spend 70% less time on administrative work, and we’re just getting started. Our platform is the foundation of everything we do. As we scale AI-powered capabilities across voice, ambient, and enterprise experiences—and extend them to health system partners, EHR ecosystems, and third-party developers—we need a seasoned platform product leader to define and drive the next generation of our technical platform strategy.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of product management experience, with 5+ years in senior/leadership roles owning platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products
  • Deep expertise in platform product management: APIs, developer experience, data platforms, integration architectures, and service-oriented systems
  • Strong background in healthcare technology, with hands-on experience navigating EHR ecosystems, health data standards (FHIR, HL7), and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2)
  • Experience productizing AI/ML capabilities at scale—ideally in NLP, speech, or applied clinical AI
  • Proven track record of building and scaling platform product teams in high-growth, product-led organizations
  • Technically fluent: comfortable engaging deeply with engineering and data science teams on architecture, systems design, and technical trade-offs
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to balance long-term platform bets with near-term product delivery
  • Excellent executive communication skills—able to articulate platform value and strategy to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise SaaS and multi-tenant platform architectures is strongly preferred
  • Bay Area–based is ideal, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Define Platform Vision & Strategy: Own and drive a clear, compelling multi-year platform product strategy that enables Suki’s product portfolio and ecosystem growth. Define the platform’s service architecture, API strategy, and extensibility model to support current products and future innovation. Translate complex AI/ML, NLP, and speech capabilities into well-architected, reusable platform services.
  • Drive Interoperability & Health Data Strategy: Own the strategy for integrations including EHR (Athena and others), ensuring deep, reliable, and scalable connectivity. Define the approach to health data standards (FHIR, HL7, CDA) and ensure the platform is built for healthcare-grade interoperability. Partner with compliance and security teams to maintain HIPAA compliance, SOC 2 certification, and enterprise-grade data governance across the platform.
  • Scale AI & ML Platform Capabilities: Work closely with AI/ML leadership to productize core capabilities—ambient AI, clinical NLP, medical speech recognition, and generative AI—as scalable platform services. Enable rapid experimentation and deployment of new AI capabilities across product surfaces.
  • Build for the Ecosystem: Define and execute the developer platform and partner integration strategy, including APIs, SDKs, documentation, and developer experience. Work with business development and partnerships teams to identify and enable high-value platform use cases for health systems, EHR vendors, and third-party developers. Build the foundation for a platform ecosystem that creates compounding value for Suki and its partners.
  • Be a Strategic Product Partner: Partner closely with the Chief Product Officer, Engineering leadership, and Commercial leadership to align platform investments with company strategy and product roadmap. Ground platform decisions in data, customer insights, technical feasibility, and business impact. Drive prioritization and trade-off decisions across competing platform demands from internal teams and external partners.
  • Build and Scale a World-Class Team: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing platform product management team. Foster a culture of technical excellence, customer empathy, accountability, and impact. Identify and close gaps in skills, tools, processes, and operating models as the platform organization scales.
