About The Position

Salesforce is hiring a Senior Director, Platform Product Management, to build and lead a small product team for the Experience Emerging Technology platform. The platform supports high-leverage opportunities and zero-to-one initiatives across the enterprise. The role will shape scattered technical capabilities into a comprehensive platform by driving product requirements, priorities, and adoption in partnership with Engineering, Development & Delivery (EDD), which owns engineering execution. This is a hands-on builder role requiring technical fluency to work credibly with senior engineers and strategic leadership to align stakeholders without direct authority over engineering teams. The position owns continuous discovery, a unified and sequenced roadmap, clear communication about platform priorities and progress, and the internal adoption narrative and milestones. It will also mentor product managers as the team grows.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience.
  • 4+ years leading platform, infrastructure, or developer products.
  • Experience owning technical products where engineers are the primary customers.
  • Experience in developer productivity or tooling, with a focus on developer enablement.
  • Hands-on technical depth across several of the following: cloud infrastructure; hosting and compute, including containers and serverless; CI/CD and developer workflow tooling; data and telemetry pipelines or event buses; observability; real-time ML; and the emerging AI stack, including MCP servers, MCP registries, agent tooling, and knowledge graphs.
  • Proven ability to build prioritization frameworks and drive a unified roadmap across stakeholders and competing agendas.
  • Experience driving adoption and migrations for internal or developer platforms, rather than relying solely on expressions of interest.
  • Ability to communicate with executives, including VPs and SVPs, and make complex technical tradeoffs understandable.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and influencing teams without authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Former engineering experience, including writing and shipping production code and being able to read architecture diagrams, pull requests, and design documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build the platform product function and define how the platform determines what to build, for whom, and in what order.
  • Establish an intake funnel and functions that create clarity and awareness about deliverables and timelines.
  • Consolidate initiatives across multiple owners into one sequenced platform roadmap and make and defend prioritization decisions.
  • Work closely with senior engineers across hosting and compute, CI/CD and developer tooling, the AI control plane, data and telemetry, and real-time ML to understand architecture, challenge scope, and unblock tradeoffs.
  • Maintain a single view of platform development efforts and identify and merge overlapping work early.
  • Drive adoption by communicating the value of the platform and securing partner-team commitments to adoption milestones.
  • Continuously interview platform use case owners to ground roadmap decisions in demand.
  • Translate technical work into clear executive narratives and communicate priorities and progress to engineering teams.
  • Mentor and grow the platform product team, establishing expectations for technical fluency and product craft.
