Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 8 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, advancement, or external affairs is required
  • Experience in multi-cultural healthcare organizations is highly desirable
  • A commitment to the mission of Neighborhood Healthcare – to improve the health and happiness of the communities they serve by providing quality care to all, regardless of situation or circumstance.
  • Demonstrated experience securing major gifts and leading comprehensive fundraising and capital campaign initiatives.
  • An ability to work successfully and effectively with a wide range of constituents and manage complex relationships.
  • A strong commitment to personal and professional development, with a history of motivating, training and managing a staff with diverse skills and experience.
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to optimize fundraising strategies and donor outreach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills.
  • Knowledge about and experience with facilitating complex projects to produce the desired outcome.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic vision for all philanthropic efforts, including major gifts, planned to give, capital campaigns, and annual giving programs; and Operate effectively in the five key areas of philanthropy: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of the donor base
  • Create short- and long-term operational plans targeting philanthropic growth, aligning them with the organization’s strategic objectives; and Build a roadmap for sustainable revenue generation through diverse funding streams, including individual, corporate, and foundation giving
  • Design and oversee all aspects of capital campaigns, from feasibility studies and donor prospecting to execution and completion; and Partner with staff and committees to ensure campaigns meet or exceed established goals
  • Develop and implement strategies for identifying and cultivating private and corporate donors, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities; and Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and foundations to secure transformational gifts
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the organization’s endowment and planned giving programs, with a focus on community and employee participation; and Build sustainable funding models that align with long-term organizational goals and donor interests
  • Lead comprehensive donor recognition and stewardship programs to enhance donor satisfaction and long-term engagement; and Ensure personalized, high-touch approaches to donor communication, focusing on major contributors and planned giving participants
  • Work closely with key NH staff, Philanthropy Council members, and committees to further development goals and philanthropic initiatives; and Provide training and guidance to Executive Leadership and Philanthropy Council members, enabling them to act as effective ambassadors for fundraising efforts
  • Leverage innovative fundraising techniques and data-driven strategies to enhance donor engagement and campaign outcomes; and Stay informed on industry trends, introducing forward-thinking practices to the organization’s philanthropic efforts
  • Serve as a key ambassador for the organization, articulating the mission and vision to external stakeholders to inspire support; and Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create impactful messaging and materials that enhance fundraising success
  • Provide high-level oversight of donor-focused events, including campaign launches, appreciation receptions, and major gift celebrations; and Ensure all events align with philanthropic goals and offer meaningful engagement opportunities for donors
  • Develop metrics to evaluate the success of fundraising efforts, providing executive-level reports on achievements, opportunities, and challenges; and Ensure accountability and transparency in all philanthropic activities and reporting
  • Oversee the development department budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation to achieve fundraising and campaign goals; and Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and maximize return on investment in philanthropic initiatives
  • Leads with Neighborhood Healthcare's Values in Action, aligning decisions, behaviors, and team priorities with the organization's mission and strategic goals
  • Builds, develops, and retains a high-performing team by recruiting, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and ratios to support organizational goals and operational excellence
  • Establishes clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations, through mentoring, and fostering a compassionate, collaborative, and inclusive work environment while ensuring employees have the resources and support needed to succeed
  • Demonstrates integrity through ethical decision-making, transparent communication, accountability, and consistent application of organizational policies and standards
  • Provides ongoing coaching, recognition, and performance feedback, addressing performance concerns promptly while supporting employee growth and development
  • Ensures accurate administration of employee timecards by reviewing and approving records within established deadlines, resolving discrepancies, and holding employees accountable for prompt and accurate reporting of hours worked
  • Serves as a steward of organizational communication by proactively cascading enterprise-wide initiatives, strategic priorities, site, or department changes through multiple communication channels (Teams, email, in-person meetings, etc.), fostering alignment, engagement and understanding within the site, department, or area of responsibility
  • Champions collaboration and continuous improvement by building strong partnerships, encouraging innovation, and going above and beyond to achieve exceptional outcomes for our employees, patients, and communities
