About The Position

This is a strategic finance seat at the leadership table, not a support role. Fox Rent A Car needs a Senior Director of Operations Finance who can stand shoulder to shoulder with Operations, Fleet, and Revenue Management and turn hard numbers into decisions that move a nationwide rental network. You will own the financial story behind fleet economics, pricing, and location profitability, and you will be trusted to challenge assumptions at the executive level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant experience supporting operations.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing finance teams and/or operating finance functions.
  • Experience in the rental car, automotive, fleet, transportation, mobility, travel, hospitality, or similarly operationally intensive industry strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, operational analysis, and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management and operational drivers.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and operational leaders.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience with ERP, FP&A, business intelligence, and data analytics platforms.
  • Experience managing finance for a multi-location or geographically dispersed operation.
  • Experience with fleet economics, vehicle remarketing, or asset-intensive businesses.
  • Experience with revenue management and dynamic pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior finance business partner to Operations and regional/location leadership.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with executive and operational leaders.
  • Translate operational strategies and initiatives into financial impacts, including revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, and return on invested capital.
  • Provide financial leadership for new locations, market expansions, acquisitions, and major operational initiatives.
  • Establish financial accountability and performance expectations across the operating organization.
  • Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Own financial analysis and performance management for the company's rental operations.
  • Analyze profitability by location, market, vehicle class, customer segment, channel, and rental product.
  • Develop operating metrics and dashboards that provide management with timely visibility into performance.
  • Analyze revenue per rental day, average daily rate, utilization, rental days, fleet availability, ancillary revenue, and contribution margin.
  • Identify operational trends, risks, and opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Establish benchmarks and best practices across the rental network.
  • Partner with Fleet leadership to optimize fleet size, mix, utilization, acquisition, and disposal decisions.
  • Analyze vehicle-level and fleet-level economics throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
  • Develop financial models supporting vehicle acquisition and replacement decisions.
  • Evaluate depreciation, maintenance, repair, damage, transportation, fuel, and disposal economics.
  • Monitor fleet aging and its impact on revenue, operating costs, customer experience, and residual values.
  • Partner with Fleet and Remarketing teams to optimize vehicle disposition strategies and maximize proceeds.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of OEM programs, vehicle incentives, purchase agreements, and financing arrangements.
  • Partner with Revenue Management to evaluate pricing strategies and revenue optimization opportunities.
  • Analyze rate performance, demand, seasonality, vehicle availability, length of rental, and market conditions.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of promotions, discounts, loyalty programs, corporate accounts, and distribution channels.
  • Develop profitability analysis that balances revenue growth with fleet utilization and operating costs.
  • Lead the annual operating budget process for the operations organization.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts for revenue, expenses, EBITDA, fleet investment, and cash flow.
  • Establish forecasting methodologies and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior year.
  • Identify key drivers of variances and work with operating leaders to develop corrective actions.
  • Lead long-range financial planning and scenario analysis.
  • Drive disciplined management of operating expenses across the rental network.
  • Analyze labor productivity, staffing levels, overtime, vehicle transportation, maintenance, fuel, facilities, insurance, and other operating costs.
  • Develop productivity metrics and cost-per-unit benchmarks.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising customer service or operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with Operations to develop and execute cost improvement initiatives.
  • Develop executive-level reporting packages that clearly communicate operational and financial performance.
  • Establish standardized KPIs across locations and regions.
  • Improve the use of financial and operational data in decision-making.
  • Develop dashboards and analytical tools that provide real-time or near-real-time visibility into performance.
  • Leverage business intelligence, automation, and data analytics to improve financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Evaluate capital requirements for fleet, facilities, technology, and other operational investments.
  • Prepare business cases and ROI analyses for major investments.
  • Monitor actual returns against approved business cases.
  • Partner with Treasury and Corporate Finance on fleet financing and capital requirements.
  • Assess the impact of fleet investment decisions on liquidity, leverage, and cash flow.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Operations Finance organization.
  • Establish clear goals, accountability, and performance expectations.
  • Develop finance talent capable of partnering effectively with field and executive leadership.
  • Promote a culture of analytical rigor, operational accountability, continuous improvement, and business partnership.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, and other finance functions.
