About The Position

The Senior Director of Strategic Planning leads a wide variety of work efforts including complex initiatives of major scope at the corporate, divisional and/or site level to include hospital business development, service line planning, and market/industry strategic planning. This role may also lead business development initiatives such as joint ventures, partnerships and mergers and acquisitions activities as assigned. The Senior Director must be comfortable and capable of interacting at the most senior levels of the organization including the C-suite. Must have the ability to deliver senior level presentations and be able to back up conclusions with data driven evidence and market insights.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or other realted field.
  • Minimum of five years progressively responsible strategic planning experience in healthcare or a related field, with demonstrable results.
  • Requires superior analytical, project management, critical thinking, problem solving, relationship building and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of industry data sources; examples include Florida’s AHCA data, Sg2, and ArcGIS
  • Excellent project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Institute PMP certification desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Leads complex projects of the Strategic Planning and Business Development function at the corporate, divisional or site level.
  • Identifies, structures, prioritizes, and leads major work streams related to OH strategy, priorities, and special initiatives.
  • Owns the service line planning process, resulting in detailed growth plans at both the enterprise and the individual facility level.
  • Advances multiple projects at any given time and balances these with ad hoc requests required by the needs of the business.
  • Routinely partners with other members of the Strategic Planning and Business Development teams, provides direction, and works directly with other internal and external stakeholders to complete project work.
  • Performs complex and advanced business unit level analytics including, but not limited to, internal or external financial, operational and/or market data, and is able to summarize into key findings for senior leadership.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams and operates at all levels of the organization.
  • Has a flexible mindset and adapts well to changing project and stakeholder demands.
  • Able to shape vague situations into a clear framework for advancement of work product and deliverables.
  • Possesses a detailed understanding of health care industry trends including, but not limited to, payment models, care delivery settings, value-based care, consumer demands, new market entrants and technology and process innovations.
  • Communicates effectively, including verbal and written communications, and will frequently interact, directly and indirectly, with senior leaders across the healthcare system.
