About The Position

Nautilus Hyosung America, Inc. (HYOSUNG) is a world leader in ATM self-service technologies. The Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. The Director develops policy, directs and coordinates human resources activities such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services by managing the following areas: HRIS system administration, benefits administration, employee relations, employee engagement, recruitment, on-boarding, organizational training and development, talent management, compensation management and government compliance. This position may also contribute in special initiatives, programs and projects as assigned by the Chief HR officer.

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, communications, or business and at least 5 years Human Resources management experience is required.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Comfortable with communicating with all levels of employees
  • Strong problem solving skills; ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required.
  • Must have high initiative, integrity, strong work ethic, good communication and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ADP® WFN, HRIS, Payroll, Recruitment and ELS systems, or similar platforms, strongly preferred.
  • Event planning experience a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Korean preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Korean strongly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, retention, training and culture.
  • Develops and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Develops and implements departmental budget.
  • Generates monthly and ad-hoc reporting for full time, part time and PRN employees, termination activities and new hire activities.
  • Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
  • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting comply with state and federal law.
  • Writes and delivers presentations to corporate officers regarding human resources policies and practices.
  • Manages the recruitment process including posting, sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Oversees, plans and conducts new employee orientation as needed.
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
  • Administers benefits programs including Life and Major Medical Insurance.
  • Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
  • Prepares budget of human resources operations for submission to CHRO for review.
  • Prepares employee termination documentation, in coordination with legal counsel.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services.
  • Assists with processing employee leave of absences requests including FMLA, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Personal Leave and Workers Compensation leave of absences.
  • Serves as initial point of contact for HR issues/inquiries and responds to employees and manager’s inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Drives organizational value through a variety of Human Resources activities focused on benefits administration, employee relations/employee engagement, recruitment, organizational development and training, talent management, compensation management and government compliance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
