About The Position

Accuray develops, manufactures, and sells radiotherapy systems for alternative cancer treatments. Our radiation therapy for cancer makes treatment shorter, safer, personalized, and more effective, ultimately enabling patients to live longer, better lives. This role will develop, own, and execute global sourcing strategies, build and manage the corporate supply base strategy and roadmap, and serve as a working leader directly involved in supplier selection, development, cost modeling, and contract negotiations. The position also acts as a liaison to internal project teams and joint venture partners, partners closely with various departments to ensure supplier readiness, quality, reliability, and scalability, and owns cost, margin, and COGS targets by leading sourcing and cost-down initiatives. Additionally, the role leads and negotiates global supplier contracts, monitors market trends, engages with joint venture partners, and builds and leads a global sourcing organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar).
  • 15+ years of experience in sourcing, manufacturing, supplier quality, or engineering-related roles.
  • 8–10+ years in progressive sourcing leadership roles with direct, hands-on responsibility.
  • Proven success developing and executing global sourcing strategies that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Deep working knowledge of global manufacturing relationships and supplier ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of international labor regulations and supplier performance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Proven leadership capabilities across: Communication & professional presence, Accountability & engagement, Financial and business acumen, Change leadership & decision-making, Talent and team development.
  • Highly analytical and data-driven; leads through KPIs and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with ERP and procurement systems.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Candidates must be able to furnish proof that they are authorized to work in the country they are applying on a permanent basis without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, own, and personally execute global sourcing strategies that expand our OUS supplier network, with particular focus on emerging markets.
  • Build and actively manage the corporate supply base strategy and roadmap, driving initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Serve as a working leader, directly involved in supplier selection, supplier development, cost modeling, and contract negotiations.
  • Act as a primary hands-on liaison to internal project teams and joint venture partners to support: Base platform product requirements, Product issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle, Regulatory approvals, Ongoing supply chain management and supplier performance.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics to ensure supplier readiness, quality, reliability, and scalability.
  • Own and deliver cost, margin, and COGS targets by directly leading and executing sourcing, cost-down, and supplier optimization initiatives.
  • Manage a risk-adjusted portfolio of cross-functional COGS reduction projects across Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Accessories, and Features.
  • Drive cost-conscious product and supplier development initiatives while maintaining quality and regulatory standards.
  • Lead and negotiate complex global supplier contracts focused on cost, quality, service, risk mitigation, and cash flow optimization.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and geopolitical factors to proactively manage supply risk and identify opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with international labor, regulatory, and supplier performance standards.
  • Engage hands-on with our Joint Venture partner in China, influencing and supporting sourcing strategy for China-manufactured product lines.
  • Drive development of low-cost, high-quality regional suppliers to support global OEM and distribution needs.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a highly skilled global sourcing organization, while remaining personally engaged in critical initiatives.
  • Proactively recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, high-performing team.
  • Lead through data—using KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
