About The Position

The Senior Director of Finance, Capital Programs is a strategic financial leader who will help shape how the Center manages, measures, and deploys capital for maximum financial and mission impact. This role brings together sophisticated financial modeling, portfolio management, data analytics, risk management, regulatory reporting, and mission impact measurement to inform critical business decisions and strengthen the Center’s capital programs. As a member of a collaborative leadership team, the Senior Director will partner across Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Small Business Capital, Compliance, and other key functions to modernize financial systems, turn complex data into actionable insights, strengthen controls, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and expand impact. Requirements

8+ years of financial analysis experience in a commercial lending environment
5+ years of ALM and CECL experience
Experience with loan management and CRM software
Strong proficiency in financial applications and database management tools
Ability to coordinate multiple competing priorities
Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills; collegial and collaborative working style; analytical and attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a focus in business, management, or a relevant field

Nice To Haves

Investment fund management experience
Advanced degree in Finance, Data, Economics, or related field
Experience in community development finance

Responsibilities

Develop and manage complex, dynamic financial models, including income statement, cash flow and balance sheet activity by product; Develop cash flow projections that include loan receipts, investment exits, and administration expenses, with a focus on balancing optimal fund deployment and liquidity
Lead efforts to adjust pricing, participation rates, etc. to ensure optimized outcomes
Evaluate opportunities for growth, using data and leveraging technology and capital budgeting concepts to increase impact and improve efficiency
Assist in managing the portfolio of loan participations for timely servicing of principal and interest payments and monitoring risks for strategic use and establishment of loan loss reserves
Assist with management of the Rural Center’s venture capital program with respect to program compliance and funding flows
Ensure sufficient financial data is collected to produce financial statements by product and program
Work with the finance team to develop and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing analysis of reports to the small business capital management
Support management of the venture capital program’s compliance and funding flows, performing in-depth tracking and reporting and maintaining a thorough understanding of the concentration risk, content and aggregate risk, trends, and other key statistics
Manage ALM functions, carefully monitoring asset management, risk mitigation, liquidity risk, and interest rate risk
Partner with other team members to determine mission impact objectives, output goals, and tools necessary to collect related data; Develops mission impact projections
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual mission results reporting
Analyze intersection of mission and financial objectives to ensure optimization of resource deployment and impact
Explore and integrate AI technology and data advancements to enhance program operations, freeing up capacity to focus on delivering enhanced partner experiences
Prepare and submit quarterly and annual SSBCI reports
Work with fund management vendors, monitoring regulatory compliance, transaction reporting/reconciliation, and financial statements
Work with partners and funders to prepare requested loan production and financial reports
Prepare compliance reports for government entities and private funders
Identify trends and opportunities for gaining competitive advantage in the marketplace
Source, validate, and interpret internal and external data; Analyze data for discrepancies and risks, effectively communicate analysis output; May assist with larger data management efforts
Track performance across assigned systems, products, or business units, and identify issues limiting potential gains; Recommend workflow changes to achieve financial goals or minimize financial impact
Supplement analyses with research and evaluations from a wide variety of sources to develop an assessment of client and industry risks and trends
Help establish and manage a robust system of financial and portfolio management tools to ensure fiscal accountability and situational awareness
Partner with finance, compliance, and internal audit to strengthen controls and support audit readiness
Prepare quarterly financial and mission dashboard for management
Prepare donor financial and mission reports as required
Assist in the design and implementation of effective team audit functions
Contribute to strategic analysis (e.g., VRIN/VRIO, BCG matrix frameworks) to assess competitive advantage and growth opportunities
Perform other related duties necessary to support the CornerSquare and Rural Center mission
