About The Position

The Senior Director of Facilities Management is responsible for the maintenance and operations of all facilities and properties. This role oversees building operations, including repairs, refurbishments, and the maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management systems. The Director evaluates and recommends contractors, ensures compliance with service standards and regulations, and develops and monitors annual budgets and preventative maintenance schedules. This position is also responsible for hiring, training, and managing facilities staff, ensuring buildings, facilities, and grounds are maintained in exceptional condition. Key responsibilities include overseeing safety compliance, maintaining records of building systems, ensuring comprehensive preventive maintenance inspections, and implementing emergency management plans. The role involves reviewing and assigning work orders, managing facility improvement projects, and directly assisting facilities staff. The Senior Director also facilitates auditor activities and is a key leader on the Emergency Management team. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year university.
Working knowledge of hospice regulations, AHCA regulations and The Joint Commission Standards.
Current Florida Driver's License.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Responsibilities

Direct maintenance of facilities and properties.
Oversee all building operations, including repairs, refurbishments, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing and waste management systems.
Evaluates and recommends contractors for facility projects and delivery of services.
Ensure building operations meet service standards and comply with all laws and regulations.
Develops and monitors annual budgets.
Develop and maintain schedules for preventative maintenance.
Responsible for hiring, training, and management of facilities staff.
Ensure buildings, facilities and grounds are maintained in exceptional condition.
Ensure maintenance of fire protection equipment, inspections and employee training.
Oversee safety compliance throughout entire facility and grounds.
Maintain records/logs of building systems and preventive maintenance.
Ensure comprehensive preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) list for all building, grounds, equipment and systems.
Ensure all emergency Management Plans are implemented as they relate to campus grounds, facilities, equipment and the safety of patients, families, visitors and staff as needed.
Review and assign work orders and respond to requests in a timely manner.
Develops, maintains and updates management on facility improvement project timelines and progress.
Ensures facility improvement projects are completed on time and on budget.
Directly assists facilities staff with projects as needed.
Facilitates the activities of on-site and remote auditors and surveyors to ensure they receive requested information and follow up.
Key leader on the Emergency Management team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
