About The Position

The Senior Director of Event Experience & Hospitality is a strategic executive leader responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously evolving world-class event and hospitality experiences for the Houston Texans organization. This role leads the vision, strategy, and execution of all event experience and premium hospitality initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand, revenue objectives, fan engagement, and partner expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum 12+ years working in event production, live events or in a related area or has an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale events (1,000+ attendees) and significant budgets.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of mentoring and developing creative teams to deliver exceptional results in the event management space.
  • Strong working knowledge of overseeing traditional event suppliers: Food & Beverage, Rentals, Janitorial, Staging, Technical, Power, Fencing, Tenting, Graphics, Fabrication, Security, etc.
  • Experience in executive event production, including leading the production of events attracting over 1,000 attendees and managing substantial budgets.
  • Strong understanding of event logistics, technical production, and venue management, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Canva.
  • Decision making capabilities with respect to duties and responsibilities including budget allocation and resource expenditure.
  • Policy setting capabilities associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop solid working relationships at all levels across the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction to complete personal goals and as a team member in order to accomplish department goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Event Experience team, overseeing the operational leadership, implementing new and efficient processes, driving innovative and engaging execution of events, ensuring alignment with brand identity and strategic objectives, and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners for seamless integration.
  • Understands the strategic and creative requirements and objectives of the event through collaboration with department leads to ensure execution is on point.
  • Drive and track cost management and efficiencies procedures through negotiation and strategic buying, cost saving, and cost avoidance.
  • Drive internal continuous improvement in best practice processes and procedures & event production to streamline the department and organization.
  • Administer financial activities including budgets, expense approvals, reconciliations and ensuring events are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Continuously monitor emerging trends and technologies in event production, translating those insights into innovative, high-impact experiences that elevate and distinguish the brand.
  • Manage team performance by coaching and identifying development opportunities, ensuring collaboration and exceptional service delivery to stakeholders.
  • Lead overall operational strategy, development and implementation, driving continuous improvement in production processes and workflows, implementing best practices and technology solutions to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key industry vendors, production companies, and creative agencies to leverage resources and expertise for successful event execution, optimizing event quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Serve as the lead planner for special projects within the organization, including Chairman’s Office and Football events.
  • Communicate and report on event progress and outcomes, delivering upon overall objectives and providing updates to individuals as needed within the organization.
  • Lead planning and execution of large-scale events such as Draft Party, Season Premier, Watch Party, Training Camp, etc.
  • Provide event support for Lone Star Sports and Entertainment (“LSSE”) events, initiatives & gamedays.
  • Lead the design and delivery of elevated hospitality experiences, including VIP, suite-level, corporate partner, and executive events.
  • Ensure seamless integration of fan experience, premium service, and operational execution.
  • Monitor and adopt emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in event production, fan engagement, and hospitality.
  • Position the Houston Texans as a leader in sports and live event experience innovation.
  • Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by Senior Vice President, Operations and Event Management
  • Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.
