About The Position

Responsible for the financial performance, strategic positioning, delivery and direction of AMPP’s External Education Program. This role oversees and is ultimately responsible for the quality experience and performance based outcomes of the 14,000+ students who enroll in AMPP Education classes online and in person yearly. The Senior Director of Education leads the staff team responsible for ensuring our Education is innovative and prepared to engage the next generation of learners. As the primary staff liaison to the Board Level Education Activity Committee, the Senior Director of Education ensures that each of the committees who oversee Education Programs follow governance as mandated by the AMPP Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to Education, Training Development, and/or Program Management, preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in a combination of roles tied to training and development management, instructional design, education operations, and program delivery.
  • Experience with P&L accountability.
  • Prior experience in the Association industry and in managing member committees, preferred.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work globally with diverse cultures.
  • Extensive experience in Business Development, Business Operations, and Change Management.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, employees of the organization, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, etc.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to develop and interpret business graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must possess a specific level of communication skill both verbal and written.
  • Have demonstrated personnel management skills including, but not limited to, the ability to evaluate staff performance and provide direction, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a multi‑task environment taking into account various external factors and to communicate efficiently and accurately to both managers/supervisors and subordinate staff.
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge and experience in word processing and spreadsheet softwares.
  • Ability to learn and use association specific software.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational performance of Education which has an annual budget of $20M+.
  • Establish KPIs for the program and report on those to the AMPP Executive Leadership.
  • Create growth strategies and business development relationships to ensure that AMPP’s Education Programs continue to increase our market share in continuing education for the markets served.
  • Develop the business development and operational goals for Education to ensure our products and programs are aligned to market positions and for future growth.
  • Identify, pursue and negotiate strategic partnerships with International Associations, Training Organizations and 3rd parties which aligns with the AMPP mission, strategic objectives and will lead to additional revenue and increase our market share.
  • Collaborate with market leaders for the creation and delivery of business plans for new innovative, and strategic opportunities.
  • Facilitate, present and lead at global events as it relates to AMPP’s Products Programs and Services.
  • Oversee the training, management, performance and advancement of 350+ contract instructors responsible for delivering AMPP’s programs worldwide.
  • Ensure that communication within AMPP is consistent and that the Education/Certification activities are aligned, while not compromising adherence to ISO or IACET standards.
  • Recruit volunteers and liaise with the AMPP Education Activity Committee and the AMPP Board Chair of Education.
  • Monitor the Education committee and subcommittee activities to ensure compliance with the Education Program Charter and report to the AMPP Board.
  • Set policies and sponsor yearly audits to ensure that AMPP’s Education program is adhering to best practices and standards established by industry, including but not limited to, ADDIE, SAM and IACET accreditation.
  • Lead the operations and instructor management teams in creating growth opportunities, mentorship and counseling to the team to position them for future opportunities.
  • Oversee the team responsible for operating AMPP’s training centers (Houston, Pittsburgh, and Dubai) and the 350+ contract instructors who travel weekly and teach for AMPP.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities of staff in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
