Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Senior Director of Data Science. The right candidate leads the development and application of advanced analytics, machine learning, and customer data strategies to improve marketing effectiveness, customer engagement, and revenue growth. This role oversees the design of scalable data science solutions that support personalization, attribution, segmentation, and forecasting across digital and offline channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field required
  • 10+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience supporting marketing, digital, or customer analytics functions required
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and consent-based marketing practices
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and marketing analytics methodologies
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applications
  • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the data science strategy for marketing, defining how advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI will be applied to drive customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and investment value
  • Direct the development, deployment, and scaling of predictive models and machine learning solutions that operationalize the strategy and deliver measurable marketing performance improvements
  • Align analytical capabilities with marketing and business objectives
  • Oversee customer segmentation, propensity modeling, attribution modeling, and forecasting to inform targeting and campaign optimization strategies
  • Lead the design and implementation of experimentation frameworks, including A/B and multivariate testing, to evaluate marketing performance and inform optimization
  • Ensure data science solutions integrate effectively with marketing technology platforms
  • Govern data quality, model performance, and validation processes to ensure accuracy, scalability, and reliability of insights
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to support responsible data usage, including privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), consent management, and data governance standards
  • Build and develop, high-performing data science and analytics teams
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to travel overnight
