About The Position

The Senior Director of Communications leads the planning and delivery of communications that explain Zotec’s work, its value, and its purpose of making healthcare work better for everyone. The role supports teams across the organization by leading communications for assigned initiatives, audience engagement, and advisory programs. This leader sets direction, advises leaders, and manages execution across audiences and channels. Excellent writing, strong design skills, and storytelling are essential to making complex information clear and engaging. The role is accountable for quality, timely delivery, and business results. Public relations support is provided as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seven or more years of progressive communications experience, including at least three years leading communications strategy, programs, or teams.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills across audiences, channels, and formats.
  • Strong design skills, including presentation design, layout, typography, and visual presentation of data.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills and proficiency with graphic design tools.
  • Experience advising senior leaders, guiding contributors, and managing projects through completion.
  • Experience leading advisory programs, business meetings, or other audience engagement initiatives.
  • Sound judgment, thoughtful listening, and the ability to manage competing priorities and follow through.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools, audience segmentation, and campaign reporting.
  • Candidates should provide writing and design samples demonstrating communications judgment, storytelling, and visual quality, with a clear explanation of their contribution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communications plans for assigned initiatives, setting priorities based on business goals and audience needs.
  • Advise and coach leaders and teams on messaging, format, channels, timing, and communications opportunities.
  • Identify where communications can improve understanding, explain a change, encourage participation, or support a business decision.
  • Establish key messages and maintain a communications calendar that coordinates work across teams and channels.
  • Set creative direction, coordinate messages and calendars across teams, and guide contributors and outside partners.
  • Lead all aspects of the established advisory council, including planning, agendas, content, presenter preparation, communications, meeting delivery, and follow-up.
  • Partner with Product, client-facing teams, and executive leaders to facilitate discussions, gather feedback, recommend actions, and track and report progress between meetings.
  • Develop additional business meetings and engagement programs as business needs warrant, recommending formats suited to the audience and purpose.
  • Manage planning and delivery of other assigned internal and external meetings, client summits, and employee events at company offices and other locations.
  • Write, edit, and design communications across formats, including executive presentations, emails, articles, digital content, reports, meeting materials, and event communications.
  • Use storytelling to explain an issue, show why it matters to the audience, and make the intended takeaway or next step clear.
  • Gather information through interviews, research, and collaboration with subject matter experts. Find the examples and experiences that help tell the story accurately.
  • Combine writing, visuals, and data to make complex information understandable and engaging.
  • Adapt content for different audiences and channels while maintaining a consistent message and voice.
  • Produce polished materials that reflect Zotec’s brand and meet standards for accuracy, readability, accessibility, and visual quality.
  • Support public relations as needed, coordinating company announcements, relevant media opportunities, and client success stories in alignment with business priorities.
  • Coordinate with PR partners and prepare designated spokespeople for interviews or public engagements as needed.
  • Support responses to media inquiries or emerging issues as needed, coordinating accurate messaging with leadership and appropriate subject matter experts.
  • Manage projects from planning through delivery, including deadlines, contributors, vendors, and resources.
  • Maintain messaging standards, review processes, and templates that support clear, consistent communications.
  • Set goals with business partners, evaluate results, and use feedback to improve the work.
  • Create tools, templates, and best practice resources that enable leaders and teams to communicate more effectively.
  • Help raise the overall standard of communications across the organization.
