About The Position

As a Senior Director-level attorney at Conga, you’ll lead legal support for Conga’s product development, intellectual property portfolio, global data privacy, AI governance, and related initiatives. You’ll have the unique opportunity to shape the future of legal tech products from the inside out—partnering closely with product, engineering, and design teams to ensure our offerings are not only innovative but also compliant and protected. You’ll directly influence product strategy, safeguard our intellectual property, and lead our global privacy program — helping Conga maintain trust, reduce risk, and unlock new opportunities in a competitive market.

Requirements

At least 10 years of legal experience.
Significant time as in-house counsel at a SaaS or technology company.
Strong foundation in product counseling, intellectual property, and global privacy law.
Ability to apply expertise in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state or the District of Columbia.
Active bar membership in the jurisdiction where the position is based (or eligibility for in-house counsel registration, if applicable).
Served as a trusted advisor to product, engineering, and design teams.
Understand how to balance legal risk with business opportunity.
Deep knowledge of intellectual property law.
Experience managing global IP portfolios, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
Experience leading privacy programs that comply with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other global data protection laws.
Experience drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and privacy terms with confidence.
Thrive in cross-functional settings.
Experience building strong relationships with stakeholders across Security, Compliance, IT, Marketing, and HR.
Experience developing and delivering training on complex legal topics.
Ability to communicate clearly, manage projects effectively, and lead with influence.
Skilled at translating legal requirements into actionable strategies that support business goals.
Experienced in managing outside counsel and legal budgets.
Worked with AI/ML technologies and understand the unique legal and ethical considerations they present.
Comfortable advising on cutting-edge issues and helping teams navigate uncharted territory.
Familiarity with open-source software licensing.
