Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund seek a hands-on and strategic Senior Director, Information Technology, Enterprise Architecture. This role reports to the Vice President, Tech Strategy and Architecture in the Information Technology department of PPFA. The IT Enterprise Architecture is a discipline for proactively and holistically identifying, analyzing, and optimizing information, technology, and processes into an integrated environment that is responsive to change and supportive of the delivery of PPFA’s business strategy. Purpose: The role of the Enterprise Architect is to enable business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. Furthermore, the enterprise architect provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices. Engagement: Partners with InfoSec Enterprise Architecture to ensure end-to-end architecture standards and design principles are in place, aligned to the target state architecture. Ensures architecture designs meet the Information Security layer standards across the enterprise. Partners across the Information Technology and Information Security organization to provide strategic and operational direction on annual business planning, technology roadmaps, industry trends, and CIO priorities. Works with the Tech Business Partner team, application owners, and business leaders to understand business requirements and help them understand how technology solution trade-offs influence strategy. Collaborates with project management and IT leaders to ensure progress towards architectural alignment with project goals and requirements. Consults with project teams to fit projects to enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture. Partners with the IT/IS communication lead on the development and execution of communication and education plans for EA capabilities. Partners with AppDev and Enterprise Application Systems’ solution architects and application owners to ensure enterprise direction and standards align with specific application solution architecture. Architect: Analyzes the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Ensures the quality documentation of all architecture design and analysis work. Oversees the evaluation and selection of hardware and software product standards and the design of standard configurations. Include Information Security Enterprise Architecture as part of the evaluation and selection process to ensure security layer needs are fulfilled. Consults with application engineering and development projects to fit systems to architecture, and identifies when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs. Consults with infrastructure development projects to fit the infrastructure to the architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs. Owns and leads enterprise initiatives to define, design, and implement cloud-based solutions, including reference architectures, estimates, and costs. Leads and mentors solution architects, engineers, managers, business teams, and individuals. Communicates cross-functionally on the vision and provides presentations of the proposed solution. Acts as a subject matter expert on cloud best practices within and outside the organization. Performs analysis of best practices and emerging concepts, both internally and externally hosted. Lead: Leads the creation and evolution of the EA function, including coordinating an appropriately inspired staff in pursuit of relatively balanced enterprise architecture viewpoints. Assesses (via appropriate measurements) and communicates the achievement and impact of the EA. Identifies organizational needs (financial, skill, and process resources) and the structures and cultural change necessary to support the EA. Builds and drives the maturity of Enterprise Architecture capabilities and ongoing refinement / continuous improvement activities. Include Information Security Enterprise Architecture in all continuous improvement activities. Promotes EA — its processes, outcomes, and lasting results — to the organization, including IT and business leaders. Responsible for the overall training and development of the architecture resources. Govern: Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide enterprise information, technology, and solution decision-making. Ensures Information Security Architecture is foundational to all solution designs through tight collaboration with InfoSec Enterprise Architecture and the CISO. Leads the development of an implementation plan for the EA capabilities based on business requirements and IT strategies. Designs and directs the EA governance structure and compliance activities (exception and exemption handling) associated with ensuring compliance with the EA.
