About The Position

This role is responsible for setting the multi-year vision for interoperability at Devoted Health, aiming to achieve measurable gains in clinical quality, operational efficiency, and data reliability. The position involves ensuring Devoted's interoperability compliance, particularly with CMS regulations, and building and leading the data exchange operational teams within the tech organization. The Senior Director will align various departments (Clinical, Operations, Engineering, Data, Legal, Compliance), manage vendor partnerships, represent Devoted externally to providers and regulators, and translate the complex interoperability landscape into clear decisions for senior leadership. The role requires a proactive, data-driven approach, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including a track record of leading other leaders.
  • Experience building and scaling multi-function organizations.
  • Experience recruiting, coaching, and mentoring talent while setting a positive, high-accountability culture.
  • Command of the healthcare data exchange landscape, including standards (FHIR, HL7, C-CDA), regulatory environment (CMS Interoperability rules, ASTP/ONC, TEFCA, information blocking), health information exchange, and EHR and clinical/claims/pharmacy data integration.
  • Proven ability to deliver on regulation and compliance, hitting major milestones that satisfy regulatory requirements and business outcomes, ideally on FHIR/API-based initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating technical and operational work across many teams.
  • Proven ability to bring multiple stakeholder groups to agreement on a single plan.
  • Experience owning and negotiating multi-million-dollar vendor relationships.
  • Experience representing the organization externally with partners like providers and regulators.
  • Experience building multi-year strategic roadmaps and driving them to measurable outcomes.
  • Data-driven mindset.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Set the multi-year vision for interoperability, translating it into measurable gains in clinical quality, operational efficiency, and data reliability.
  • Deliver Devoted's interoperability compliance, defining strong compliance standards and ensuring the company stays ahead of regulatory changes.
  • Build and lead the data exchange operational teams (clinical data acquisition, integration operations, telephony) to execute interoperability at scale.
  • Create alignment across Clinical, Operations, Engineering, Data, Legal, and Compliance departments to advance interoperability and remove systemic blockers.
  • Shape and steward multi-million-dollar vendor partnerships into a coherent strategy that strengthens capabilities and reduces integration risk.
  • Advance Devoted's interests externally by shaping relationships and policy with provider and regulatory partners.
  • Serve as the authority for senior leadership, translating the complex interoperability landscape into clear decisions.
  • Own and negotiate multi-million-dollar vendor relationships.
  • Represent the organization's position externally to providers, regulators, and industry forums.
  • Build multi-year strategic roadmaps and drive them to measurable business and operational outcomes.
