About The Position

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a hands-on Senior Director – Internal Audit, Data Science & AI to lead AI, machine learning, analytics, and automation initiatives within Internal Audit. The position combines technical leadership with active coding and AI model development. The successful candidate will lead a small technical team and personally develop AI solutions to improve audit efficiency, risk detection, and enterprise decision-making. The role drives AI strategy, product roadmaps, and deployment of scalable enterprise solutions, partnering with Technology and Data Science teams on reusable platforms, APIs, and data products. It also supports anomaly detection, continuous monitoring, and automated audit evidence generation, while ensuring responsible AI practices, data governance, model risk management, and regulatory compliance. The leader will collaborate with executives and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes while remaining involved in hands-on technical work. The position may be based in Reston, Virginia; Washington, DC; or remotely within the United States. Local candidates must work onsite at least three days per week. Remote candidates must work Eastern Time business hours, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, and be available to visit the DC or Reston office at least once per quarter, with additional visits as needed. The annual salary range is $226,000–$340,000, plus a 35% long-term incentive cash bonus. Relocation is considered case by case.

Requirements

At least 8 years of experience in AI/ML, data science, analytics, automation, or enterprise technology.
At least 5 years of technical team leadership experience.
Proven experience delivering AI, analytics, or automation solutions into production.
Experience in Internal Audit, risk, compliance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
Strong hands-on expertise in AI/ML, Generative AI, coding, model development, data platforms, cloud technologies, and model lifecycle management.
Knowledge of data governance, responsible AI, model risk, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with enterprise platforms, APIs, and scalable software or product delivery.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Must be willing to perform coding and AI model development personally while leading a small team.
Local candidates in Reston, VA or Washington, DC must work onsite at least 3 days per week.
Remote candidates must reside in the United States, work Eastern Time business hours (8:30 AM–5:00 PM), and be available to visit the DC or Reston office at least once per quarter, with additional visits as needed.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree in a relevant field.
Experience with LLMs, RAG, AI agents, NLP, anomaly detection, or multi-agent workflows.
Familiarity with cloud AI platforms, MLOps/LLMOps, and model monitoring.
Knowledge of audit, controls, and risk management.

Responsibilities
